The Tornados finally got to play a game in the sun today, and made the most of the day with a ton of shining moments. A 5-0 effort on this day against a highly talented team. Wanna see some highlights?
Christopher stepped up on defense throughout the game, and seemed to be able to take the ball away any time he wanted to! It looks like Lawrence's energy on defense is very contagious.
Troy showed his speed and smarts off today as he continuously kicked it into high gear past the opposition and toward the goal.
Jonathan got into the mix with some steals, a nice throw in and a perfect pass over to Troy.
As for this photo - either I'm saying something really interesting, or I'm just standing next to Luke's mom and dad as they pass out snacks... yeah, I think the latter is more correct!
Madison was a constant threat today as she found a lot of energy to persistently get the ball in by the goalie.
Here's me explaining why I blew the whistle when one of the players on the other team knocked down one of the Tornados. We're all for letting the kids play, but if someone is throwing their weight and elbows around on the field in a way that might hurt another child, this is where Coach Mike and I will stand up (or blow the whistle) to remind the kids why we're out here. Was I in the wrong? I think the other team thought so...but I'd do the same thing again if I felt any child was in danger of getting hurt. Anyway...back to the pictures.

Jace showed some true toughness and strength today as he stopped the offense and turned on a dime to take the ball up the field.
As a matter of fact, here's Jace about to put in a goal - notice Madison and Jonathan running to the net - was there any doubt this would end in a Tornados goal?
Owen got into the mix today with a few deflections that stopped the momentum of the opposition's drives.
Jace and Madison teamed up to sneak one by the defense as Jonathan and Owen bring some support to make sure this ball makes its way to the net!
Rylie, Aaron & Troy run proudly to center field after another Tornados goal!
Joey was determined to get the ball as he, Aaron and Rylie are in hot pursuit of the loose ball.
Troy kicks it into high gear as the ball is kicked right in his path. Troy, Aaron and Joey all on the breakaway? If I were the goalie, I would be very afraid!
Aaron made quick work of intercepting this ball and getting it up to the forwards.
Ahhhh... a little break in the action!
Emma uses some fancy footwork to get the ball deep in the offensive zone as her effort led to a goal with her and Joey booting it into the net!
Either Aaron is doing his best impersonation of the Leaning Tower of Pisa or Aaron, Luke and Riley are pressing the ball forward toward the goal.
Tornados on the offense! Is Joey about to start flying like Superman?
